Words can’t express the gratitude my family and I have for all the support we have received this year. Our hearts are full of love for so many of you who have reached out as we have faced the challenges associated with our wonderful daughter Wylie! Personally, this been the most difficult year of my life, but also one of the most rewarding as we have seen countless miracles of healing and of generosity!
2020 VISION
As we look into 2020 much is uncertain. That is true for all of us. But many things are certain. Jesus is still King. His love is immense. His plans and purposes will prevail! As I have considered 2020 and how best to focus my energies with the Simple Church Alliance, while also seeking to primarily be there to support Wylie and my family, I am excited about the possibility of a narrow, but impactful “2020 Vision:” to prayerfully identify twenty individuals or couples that sense God calling them to explore planting a new simple church—ten from January through June and then ten from July through December. This “2020 Vision” would allow for these folks to pray, learn, and connect with each other (and me individually) a couple of times a month for support and encouragement. Participants will explore the possibility of starting a simple church on their own in their community, but be encouraged by others seeking to do the same. If I’ve learned anything, it’s that a vibrant new simple church will happen only when God is the orchestrator. So those in this group will not carry “starting a new church” as a burden but as a dream that they believe God has initiated. Even the UK Wildcat showed us some love on Christmas at the Hospital while passing out candy canes to everyone here! Interestingly, he was wearing a basketball uniform that is very similar to the one I used to wear back in the 90s! 😉
